CAIR II builds on ICMPD’s experience over the past three years in supporting the Iraqi Government’s ongoing work in strengthening the national reintegration framework for returnees. CAIR II is implemented as a follow-up project to phase one (Capacity building for long-term reintegration of returnees to Iraq – CAIR I, February 2021-May 2023). It continues with the activities that take forward the institutional capacity building for the Government of Iraq, a multistakeholder engagement approach to reintegration, and awareness raising and outreach for potential migrants and returnees through the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) in Baghdad.
CAIR II is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and implemented by ICMPD.
