In April 2023, ICMPD arranged a visit for Türkiye’s Presidency of Migration Management, as the Chair of the ICMPD Steering Group. The purpose was to discuss migration partnerships, voluntary return, and reintegration with the Government of Pakistan. Ms. Sedef Dearing, Head of the Budapest Process Secretariat and Silk Routes Region, accompanied the delegation during the visit.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development expressed full support for the PMM and ICMPD, welcoming the plan to establish a third Migrant Resource Centre in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The promotion of well-managed legal migration was also highlighted. The Director General of the FIA stated readiness to support a practical solution for return and reintegration.
